Tuxie is a minor character in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS.

Appearance

Tuxie is a blue penguin infant with a white belly, large yellow beak, and blue eyes. She is about a third of Mario's size.

Location

Tuxie appears at the mountain summit in Cool, Cool Mountain wandering around next to the cabin chimney. After her rescue, she will stay next to her mother at the base near the cabin exit.

Missions

In Mission 2, if the player goes near the Mother Penguin, she will tell them that she has lost her baby. The player must their way back to the mountain summit and collect the baby penguin that is loitering near the spawn. From there, the player must bring the baby penguin back down to the mother. The mother will then thank the player for their help and give them a Power Star.

Trivia

• If Mario picks up Tuxie after returning her, the mother penguin will angrily chase Mario until he drops her.
• Mario can walk over to the edge of cliff near the mother and drop her to her death. The mother will not even seem to notice. This will also still let the player collect the star, assuming they talked to the mother beforehand. Here is a video of this in action.
